DETALLE DEL EVENTO
El 9 de noviembre de este año, se cumplen 25 años de la caída del Muro de Berlín. Siendo uno de aquellos acontecimientos de trascendencia universal que marcaría la vida política, social, económica y cultural de prácticamente todo el globo en las dos décadas y media siguientes, resulta pertinente realizar una evaluación académica de sus efectos, particularmente, sobre la izquierda latinoamericana.
Lo acontecido en Berlín en 1989 implicó mucho más que el fracaso de una experiencia (sin duda, la más relevante en toda su historia) de la izquierda internacional. Significó más aún la pérdida de un referente histórico y político e identitario. Para bien o para mal, ya nada sería igual a como había sido anteriormente, y esto involucraba tanto a las izquierdas vinculadas a Moscú, como aquellas otras de carácter socialdemócrata y socialista, así como también a aquellas otras pertenecientes a la “gran familia” comunista, principalmente, a la maoísta y en menor medida a la trotskista.
Con estos antecedentes, la Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung en el Ecuador (FES-ILDIS) y la Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar (UASB) tienen el agrado de invitar a usted a participar en nuestro Foro Regional: 25 años de la caída del Muro de Berlín.
